The level of medical service is quite good, but it is, of course, not like home. The central – and only – hospital, on the island is understaffed and extremely busy, so it is a good idea to go to the private clinics, but complicated fractures and operations may well end up in the hospital, anyway.

Most doctors do not speak other languages; we shall translate for you. We have a list of recommended specialists whom we trust.

You will find that the prices for medical services are much lower than at home, and the cost for medicine is much, much lower here! Alternative treatments are also available. A normal consultation will cost around 50 Euros.
