Residency papers

Although members of the European Union automatically have the right of residency in Portugal, all foreigners have to register with the “Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras” (Foreigners and Border Service). They will advise you also to register with the resident honorary consul as well, which is not a bad idea – you might get nice invitations! And it may come in useful in the future. Residency status requires some paperwork, and you will be required have to get a quick medical; we shall take you through the process.
